The Basics Of Playing Online Blackjack UK
Whether in a land-based casino or online, blackjack is one of the favourite games among players of all kinds. This is because compared to many other casino games, UK online blackjack is considered to be more of a game of skill than just a game of chance. Backjack online UK is a fun game to play because it requires lots of thought and decision making, yet the strategy is fairly easy to get to grips with. Advanced players and those with some skills and experience are able to do well when playing UK blackjack online as the dealer never has to make any decisions and this means that the basic overall strategy remains the same every game that is played.
When considering branching out into playing UK online blackjack, it is important to familiarise yourself with the basic strategy of the game. Beyond the basic strategy, there are numerous theories that you may discover which claim to be able to give the player the edge over the dealer in the game. However this is not the case except for card counting, which is a banned practice when playing blackjack online in an real money casino.
What Are the Basic Rules of Playing Online Blackjack UK?
There are several variations of UK online blackjack and different online casinos have different rules relating to the game. The most common rules found are those relating to European blackjack, also sometimes known as Classic blackjack.
The basic idea of online blackjack UK is to make 21 with the cards in your hand. You must not exceed the total of 21, but you should get as close as possible. The picture cards (or the royal cards – King, Queen and Jack) are worth a total of 10 points each while each other card is worth its total value. An Ace may either be worth 11 or 1 depending on the needs of the player. As soon as a player draws cards that are over the value of 21, they are immediately declared bust and are out of the game, regardless of the value of the cards in the dealer’s hands. Should the dealer get cards worth more than 21, the dealer loses and the player’s bet, together with the amount of their winnings is returned to them. Should neither the dealer nor the player reach 21, whichever of the two has the nearest number to 21 in their card value is considered to be the winner.
Multiple players can join in each hand playing against the dealer, and one player can even have multiple hands. Decisions are taken consecutively, however the number of total hands played at any one time is usually either 6 or 8. Generally in a game of blackjack, the dealer must hit up to 16, with sticking allowed from 17 both soft and hard.

How Does a Game of UK Blackjack Online Work?
The first stage of a game of UK Blackjack online is the initial betting where all players in the hand must place their bet before they have received any cards. The dealer will then deal all players two cards each while the dealer themselves will receive two cards with only the top one showing.
Should a player immediately receive a blackjack (a count of 21 as their card value) in the initial 2 card deal, they are an instant winner and can receive a payout of 3:2. Should nobody in the hand receive an instant blackjack, the player must then decide whether to hit or stand.
There are both soft and hard hands. A soft hand will include an Ace, which can then count as either a 1 or an 11. A hard hand is one which does not include an Ace.
Once a player has made a decision whether or not to receive another card, they will then ask for a hit (otherwise known as a twist) or a stand (otherwise known as a stay or stick). A hit will enable the player to receive another card. Although there is no limit to the number of cards a player can ask for, they are unlikely to require more than 6 in order to get a win. Should you choose to stand, the cards in your hand at that point is your total for the round.
Should a dealer and a player receive exactly the same value of cards in their hand, a push is declared which means that nobody wins and the player will receive their bet returned back to them.
Should a player’s cards total more than 21, they are declared bust and are out of the game, losing their wager.
Other Important Rules When Playing the Best Online Blackjack UK
There are some other rules which you need to know when playing blackjack online UK.
Doubling down is one way to maximise your winnings by doubling their initial stake and the receiving only one extra card.
Should a player receive two identical cards in their original deal, they have the option to play on with one hand or to split their hand into two separate hands and subsequently receive a new card for each of the two new independent hands. In order to do this, the player must however place a bet to the same value as their original bet for the second hand. Should the player then receive another identical card in a subsequent hit, they then have the option to re-split again. Depending on the casino they may be limited in the number of re-splits they are allowed.
If the player wishes to split when the identical card that they have received is an Ace, then generally the casino will only permit the player to receive one more subsequent card on each independent hand.
Should the dealer receive an Ace on their first deal, a player can receive Insurance on their stake. Should the player take this option and the dealer then turn over the second card to reveal blackjack, the player will get their initial bet returned to them.
